What is a Séance?
A séance from the Spiritualist point of view means, “message circles.” Participants sit in a circle with the main facilitator leading the group of participants. This circle is titled as a “development” circle so that everyone from a beginner to more experienced people can join in with an opportunity to grow and unfold each person’s psychic and mediumship development.
Usually, the circle will begin with a quiet/silent time with or without music. The main requirement for this circle will be one’s ability to sit still for an extended time of about 10 to 15 minutes of which, one can attune and ground before the communication begins.
From this safe and positive space, each person will communicate such thoughts on how they are feeling, what they are feeling and if anyone “perceived” anything psychically or “received” mediumistic feelings that they wish to communicate. We hope to encourage spiritually
enriched energy and experience for everyone.
Everyone is encouraged to speak but also can be a passive listener and observe as well. The messages are strictly for the purpose of expressions of love, healing, and guidance. At no time, a negative message in bad taste nor a gloomy prediction type of message nor serious personal matters are allowed and will be stopped immediately by the facilitator.
The following Rules and Etiquette will be in place:
On time. Due to the quiet time involved the door will be closed and locked at 7:30 pm
No eating and no disruptive behavior such as getting up or leaving the room.
Any rude, unpleasant remarks and attitudes are not allowed, and the facilitator can remove a person if necessary for the purpose of creating a positive vibration for the circle.
Trance type of practice work is not suitable for this development circle.
About Sheila Medina
Sheila Medina is a Religious Science Practitioner and has been initiated as a Deeksha Healer at Oneness University. She has experience as a group facilitator working with both Progress Foundation and Baker Places as a counselor in San Francisco. She has been serving as a medium, healer and speaker at Golden Gate Spiritualist Church for the past 18 years.
She also has been a guest medium and speaker at Celebrate Life Progressive Spiritualist Community since its inception in 2007. Sheila led a similar mediumship development circle in her home for several years with many participants attending regularly. She has attended James Bae's “Mediumship and Spiritual Development” workshops and continues to unfold her mediumistic gifts.
Suggested donation: $10-$20
No one turned away for lack of funds.
