James Bae, a spiritual medium and healer, has carried a profound connection with the Spirit World since childhood. His journey into the realms of Spiritualism began as a response to the profound loss of loved ones, which ignited a deep curiosity and a search for meaning in the unseen. James embarked on a transformative path, culminating in his studies at England's renowned Arthur Findlay College since 2013, where he honed his abilities and understanding of the spiritual realm.
Today, James, as Licentiate Minister with NSAC, serves his community with years of service on the Pastoral Committee and as a board member for Celebrate Life Spiritualist Community. Through his work and teachings, he continues to share Spiritualism's wisdom and healing power with an open heart and a deep connection to the divine.

Charlyn Spitzer, is a Psychic Medium who has demonstrated mediumship in Spiritualist Churches in the Bay area on international Radio and is also an artist who uses automatic spirit writing as a medium of her art.

She has worked as a medium for over ten years, helping to bring healing and messages from those persons who have passed on from this world. Her ability to communicate evidential messages with love, humor, and proof of survival of the personality beyond the change called death has helped to heal and change the lives of many recipients of her spirit communications. 

She currently resides in Alameda and is the Director of her nonprofit, which provides for the unhoused community in Oakland. In her spare time, she loves to ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle, which she considers a form of meditation.

Auset O’Neal is joyfully busy as a Certified Psychic Medium, Intuitive Consultant, Mentor and Senior Message Circle Conductor. She is co-host of the new podcast Intuitive Secrets and host of the podcast It’s All Just Love, as well as an Animist, Futurist, Healthy-Keto Coach, Morris Pratt Student, and serial Entrepreneur.

She has presented workshops on Spirituality at the Black Trans Advocacy Conference and online at the Lily Dale Assembly. "At 15, I met a blind girl at prep school who was the catalyst for me becoming an eye doctor. The inspiration for living a “spiritual” life came from my mother and grandmother who were both ordained spiritualist ministers. I still have fond memories of my grandmother’s weekly development circle in the 1970’s.

An incredible amount of knowledge has been passed down to me by my mother and grandmother. Yet as with any disciple, time and effort are needed for a deeper understanding of the core principles. In 2005, I completed the Morris Pratt Educational Course of Licentiate Minister.

I have had the privilege to study with national and international authorities over the
decades. Searching for enlightenment and helping the needy has taken me to over
40 countries. I have always felt guided and I truly believe when a student is ready, the right

​Chris Eden is a Spiritual Warrior cleverly disguised as a regular guy. Pushing back against his sensitive nature for years he finally caved deciding to embrace it, that's when his life began to change in a significant way. He found a Spiritual home at CelebrateLIFE just walking by their Castro location back in 2014, fell in love with Spiritualism and the community -- and the rest is history.

After joining the Board of Trustees back in August 2021 among the uncertain post-pandemic times, he has recently doubled-down on his commitment and role last Spring becoming Board President. He shows endless enthusiasm about leading the organization into this New Era of Modern Spiritualism. 

With over a decade of experience in the events industry both managing and producing events of all sizes & types; a background in hospitality, operations, and theatre; a college career building community and leading a non-profit; and spending nine years volunteering at a Summer camp for foster kids which lead to his becoming an influential director -- he continues to surprise us with his swiss-army-knife-like skills working with and leading groups of people. He is uniquely equipped for his new role, to say the least. Having a bountiful imagination and the drive to make things happen we're excited and eager to see what comes next from this inspiring young man.

Susan Hazard, NSAC Certified Medium with twenty-five years experience, is a member and vice-president of the Board of Trustees of the Golden Gate Spiritualist Church in San Francisco.

Haruka Takate, is a brilliant Psychic Medium and a Healer born with a natural ability to connect with spirits.

Like many “sensitives”, she found life to be a struggle until she learned how to use her gifts from Spirit. In 2004, she met her mentor and started to study Spiritualism, Spiritism, and Mediumship. At the same time, she began to understand and apply Natural Law, in particular, the Law of Attraction, which in turn led her to use her abilities to help others.

Susan Barth is a member of and Pastoral Committee at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment Spiritualist Church in Virginia. Susan discovered Spiritualism in 1996 through a meditation class. She served as a chairperson, healer, and speaker teaching membership classes for over 20 years.

Susan finished Morris Pratt Institute class (MPI), Pastoral Skills course, and currently studying for Ordained Minister. She is a retired Foreign Service with many experiences overseas which made it clear there's an invisible force guiding our choices. As a lifelong liberal-scientific-atheist-agnostic, Susan was fairly certain there was no value in religion or God - until a career change. Within 18 months, she required invisible intervention.

Sheila Medina is a Religious Science Practitioner and has been initiated as a Deeksha Healer at Oneness University.  She has experience as a group facilitator working with both Progress Foundation and Baker Places as a counselor in San Francisco.  She has been serving as a medium, healer and speaker at Golden Gate Spiritualist Church for the past 18 years.

She also has been a guest medium and speaker at Celebrate Life Progressive Spiritualist Community since its inception in 2007.  Sheila led a similar mediumship development circle in her home for several years with many participants attending regularly.  She has attended James Bae's  “Mediumship and Spiritual Development” workshops and continues to unfold her mediumistic gifts.

Eva Vega discovered Spiritualism in the spring of 2016. She has a BA in Business Economics, an M.Ed in Montessori Education and is the owner of a Montessori home-based Childcare for
children ages 0-3 years.

Eva serves as a medium and healer and President of the Board at the Spiritualist Church of the Comforter. She is a Reiki Master and a current student of the Morris Pratt Institute. Honorary Rev. Drew Vogt is an uplifting transformational speaker, teacher, medium and a co-founder of several non-profits including Celebrate Life and Casa de Kids in Oaxaca, Mexico where he currently lives and works full time.

He has spoken numerous times at the internationally renowned center for Spiritualism in Lily Dale, NY and other conferences and churches throughout the country including Mensa. 

Drew lived and taught for one year in Tokyo, Japan and later assisted humanitarian projects in the US, Nepal, Iran and Tibet. Working with various non-profits, he was instrumental in orphans' and children’s projects in Uganda and three locations in Mexico. Following an earthquake of historic magnitude in Istmo, Mexico (2017) he facilitated an 11 member team to lead an earthquake relief trip to the affected area.

Dr. Alan Hugenot made a life study of the scientific basis for the afterlife. Today, continuing to research consciousness survival, many questions remain. The true nature of consciousness survival may always remain a mystery, but rigorous research shows death, like birth, may be a mere passing from one state of consciousness into another.

Robert Ingold became a member of the Sylvia Browne church, Society of Novus Spiritus in 2008 and then a minister in training but after 9 years became a member of the Spiritualist Science of Life Church of San Jose, CA in 2017 under Pastor Louise Peruch. He is now with the Spiritualist Church of Two Worlds in San Leandro, CA under Pastor Sandra Deckinger practicing mediumship and healing.

Wanda Whitaker - "Originally from Washington, DC, as a young child I always loved to draw. When I was in church, as the minister preached and the choir sang, I would be drawing. My mother noticed my interest and placed me in community art classes which took me on visits to the local galleries such as the National Gallery of Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Later I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park where I majored in Radio, Television and Film and minored in Art Studio. It was not until 1983 when I moved to San Francisco, California that I started painting on canvas and until 2007, art was an up and down pursuit.

Today, it is my vocation and my work has evolved with exhibitions in galleries, yoga studios, cafes and restaurants, etc, throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond as well as purchased and placed in private homes. Additionally, I paint murals and produce commissioned art for organizations and individuals including but not limited to portraits and still life images of natural scenery and landmarks."

The Rev. DeeDee Freeman is an Ordained NSAC Spiritualist Minister, Teacher, and Healer. She has been a student of the Metaphysical Arts for over 25 years and regularly serves at Mystical Spiritualist Church in Prescott AZ, and Church of the Living Spirit, NSAC in Phoenix AZ. She also teaches classes related to Spiritualism at Yavapai College in Prescott AZ, and holds private spiritual development workshops to help people develop their intuitive abilities. In her counseling practice, she helps people enter the “hypnogogic” state so they can safely examine and release old patterns of belief that are holding them back.

The “hypnogogic” state has been called many things: gnosis, path working, non-ordinary reality, the astral plane, lucid dreaming, meditation, hypnosis, etc…whatever one calls this state of consciousness, it is the doorway to our personal genius, our intuitive, higher self. Jack Mario is a spiritual medium recognized for his detailed accuracy and down-to-earth approach. Through his work, Jack has been featured on ABC, various radio shows, as well as spoken at multiple Spiritualist churches and Arizona colleges. 
 
Since childhood, Jack has been interacting with those in the Spirit World. When he was 13 years old, sitting at a school lunch table, Jack gave his first reading to two schoolmates. Word spread, and other schoolmates wanted to know who was around them and what he saw in their lives. This caught the attention of their families as well as his teachers through Jack's high school career. Many who experienced his connection urged him to pursue a career in mediumship. In 2019, Mary Tang unexpectedly found herself at Celebrate Life!  For many years, she had tried to look for a spiritual community that resonated with her. For a time, she gave up the search and doubted she could find a grounded belief that would be compatible with her childhood experiences, her observations of the world, as well as her encounters with the other side of the veil.

She realized her desire for a spiritual home never left her. It was synchronicity (and Spirit's will) that she found herself at the Celebrate Life Spiritualist Community.  This is her story. Come see her on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

Carolyn Allsopp, is a medium from England who has been involved with spiritualism for over 30 years. She studied with the Spiritualist National Union, SNU, in England and gained her CSNU in speaking and demonstrating mediumship. She is also an approved healer.
 
Carolyn’s mediumship also evolved into a deep trance and transfiguration medium. She continues to serve Spiritualist churches and centers in the U.K., along with her private reading work.
 
Carolyn’s journey has taken into many areas and enjoys meeting so many people through spiritualism and helping others with her mediumship. She is very passionate about her physical mediumship and the pioneers of our movement. She also loves philosophy and believes that we need to understand the broader message of what spirit are saying. She loves sharing her knowledge and has the pleasure of teaching students over the years in small private groups and within workshops.

Helena Smith who is an English medium based in the UK with many years experience of serving spirit. We are happy to have Helena with us at Celebrate Life.
 
She was told she would be a spirit worker in her twenties but did not explore her ability until her early thirties, when she started her development by joining circles and workshops. She went on to be mentored by a well known international medium and to complete further training at the world renowned Arthur Findlay College over the last five years.
 
Today, she serves a number of churches and centers around the UK bringing messages from loved ones in spirit. She also teaches psychic and mediumship development as well as offering one-to-one readings.

Carol Caesar who is a life-long Spiritualist originally from California who began attending development classes when she was eleven and studied under physical medium, the Rev Anna Franz until she was eighteen. In college she started her own “Home Circle” and upon graduation, moved to Northern Virginia. 

She has been a member of the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment, NSAC for twenty years and has served since 2004 as speaker, healer, chairperson, orientation class teacher, and shares in leading the Friday Night Meditation Hour.

Alan Wellman is known for his accurate, compassionate and inspiring work as a Spiritual Medium.  He is eager to share his gifts to help demonstrate that life does continue after the physical death.

The Rev. Stacy Kopchinski from Wisconsin who is a Certified Medium, Commissioned Healer and National Spiritualist Teacher. She is currently the Administrator of Morris Pratt Institute Americas Spiritualist College and a Trustee on the NSAC Board.

She is also a member of the International Spiritualist Federation and Lily Dale Assembly. Stacy has taught classes in Churches and Camps throughout the US and has also taught in Canada. She is an active teacher for her church here in Wisconsin, First Spiritualist Church of West Allis. Her passion is giving the connection of Spirit to all who have an interest in the connection. Angel Anne Smith, known as Scotland's Angel of the North, is a third-generation medium from Glasgow, Scotland, U.K.
She is the author of "So you want to be a medium?" and "Footsteps to Enlightenment, Healing Oracle Cards." A natural medium, Often, she goes directly to the recipient, with exact information on the relationship and character of the personality she is communicating within the spirit world.

Tim Mauro has been a singer/songwriter/guitarist for the last 20 years.  He performs his inspirational music at many churches and other venues all over the Bay Area. He has performed at Center for Spiritual Living in Fremont, Unity Church of San Jose, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Redwood City, and Center for Spiritual Living in Ashbury Heights to name a few.
In addition to music, Tim has been a student of the New Thought teachings and has studied with Dr. Jay Scott Neale for the past 25 years.  He served as a staff minister at Center For Spiritual Living for 9 years. In 2009 Tim made the decision to give up the ministry to dedicate more time to his music, but is still a member of this spiritual community.

His  latest CD, titled "Spirit Expressing"  came out in 2014. His music evokes tears, laughter, and often a healing experience.  It always touches the heart. However, his most important job is that of a husband and father.  His biggest inspiration and greatest teachers are his wife, Thu, and his daughter, Jennifer.

In August of 2017, while on a walk with a friend in the Castro, he discovered Celebrate Life. A month later he joined the Tuesday night Mediumship circle and thus began an exciting new

Medical Medium and Healer, Tracy Thatcher was one of the few brought up in Modern Spiritualism, back in the day when church was held in a member's home. Both her parents were Spiritualist Ministers, serving as co-pastors of The Church of Two Worlds. She's been a practicing Spiritualist for over 45 years.

EILEEN BARKER is a well-known forgiveness teacher and coach.  Eileen has been a lawyer/mediator for over twenty-five years. This work led her into a deep exploration of forgiveness as it relates to resolving conflict and making peace, both with others and oneself.

Eileen is the founder of The Path of Forgiveness and PeaceWorks, a center for peace and reconciliation. Eileen has led classes and retreats throughout the Bay Area, including at the Esalen Institute, and elsewhere in the US, India, and Europe. She is the author of the Forgiveness Workbook and Forgiveness Meditation CD.

In 2016, Eileen was recognized by the Worldwide Forgiveness Alliance as a “Champion of Forgiveness,” along with Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Eileen has taught at the University of California Berkeley School of Law, University of California Hastings College of Law, John F. Kennedy University Graduate School of Professional Psychology, Sonoma (CA) State University, and Creighton University, Werner Institute. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University Law Center and also holds an honors degree in psychology from Indiana University.

Michael Franklin was raised in England, where he spent several years on the family estate of the first Scottish king of England, James Charles Stuart. He served as a U.S. Army Intelligence Officer, and went on to spend twelve years a licensed investigator and close personal protection agent. When he met the love of his life, Mary Jessamy, he chose to change careers and settle in San Francisco, working in real estate development and property management.

Michael has been a High Church Anglican, a Catholic, an Episcopalian, a Druid, a New Age church member and a Spiritualist. With Spiritualism he has found a home, serving at Golden Gate Spiritualist Church in many capacities including board treasurer, spiritual healer, devotional service chairperson and inspired speaker.

If anyone asks him where his passion lies, he is quick to reply “Nothing I do feels as good to me as Spiritual Healing”!

Dave Haddick, President of the Golden Gate Spiritualist Church (GGSC) Board of Trustees, is a fourth generation Spiritualist. Moving to San Francisco in 1929, his grandfather joined GGSC and served as an NSAC Commissioned Healer for 23 years. Dave’s parents met at church; his mother was a member for 71 years, and his father was Pastor from 1980 to 2002.

Dave grew up attending the Lyceum (Sunday School) at a time when there was at least 20 children in attendance. In addition to receiving a well grounded education in Spiritualism, the children also learned how to run the church board. Dave attended one Lyceum class with the founder of GGSC, Florence Becker, which was to be her last class before she transitioned in 1970, and he has been faithfully serving Spiritualism and GGSC ever since.

Melissa Haddick has been a member of the Golden Gate Spiritualist Church for over 20 years. In 1990, she had a “spiritually transformative experience” while walking to work in the SF Financial district, when a vision of a Native American Indian appeared in front of her like an opaque veil.

The ensuing relationship with this spirit guide continues to inspire her work today. Their first collaboration was The Mud Ritual, a series of black and white fine art photography that has been exhibited in San Francisco and Santa Fe.

Melissa is currently pursuing ministerial studies through Morris Pratt Institute, and serves regularly as speaker and medium at GGSC and other local and out-of-state churches.
